About JOHN SLEMP
John Slemp brings a distinctive eye to every frame — shaped by a life lived across continents and careers. Born in Japan and later commissioned as a U.S. Army armor officer, he served in command and staff roles across the United States and Germany before turning his lens on the world full time.
For more than 30 years, Slemp has built an award-winning commercial photography practice, producing compelling imagery for editorial, corporate, and advertising clients worldwide. His work reflects the discipline and precision of his military background, paired with an artist's sensitivity to light, character, and story.
A life member of the American Society of Media Photographers, Slemp has dedicated himself not only to his craft but to his professional community, serving in leadership roles at both the local and national levels of the organization.
His artistic ambitions extend beyond the camera. A currently exhibiting fine art photographer, Slemp completed his first book — a deeply researched visual study of World War II bomber jackets — in the fall of 2022. The volume is now available internationally, earning recognition from history enthusiasts and collectors alike.
Whether documenting the quiet dignity of a subject in a studio portrait or capturing the sweep of a landscape, John Slemp's images carry the weight of experience and the confidence of a craftsman who has spent a lifetime perfecting his vision.
