AirVenture Update
Gratefully home after a whirlwind tour of the American Midwest…Wisconsin, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Tennessee, and finally, back to Georgia. The purpose of the trip was to attend the annual AirVenture aviation celebration, put on by the Experimental Aircraft Association. Otherwise known simply as “Oshkosh,” the event was not held last year, due to concerns surrounding the Covid 19 outbreak. This year, over 600,000 aviation enthusiasts gleefully headed to Oshkosh, to bask in the collective glory of all things aviation. I’m sure more would have come this year, had it not been for travel restrictions in other places, such as Canada, Europe, and South America.
Still, it was an impressive showing, and despite a few organizational hiccups at the beginning of the week (which happens every year…truth be told), it was another typical Oshkosh…meaning it was outstanding. The folks in Wisconsin really know how to be excellent hosts, and they don’t disappoint.
For us, it was quite a busy week, as we gave two very well attended presentations on the jacket book project, photographed two Tuskegee Airmen, and were also interviewed on EAA Radio. Additionally, jacket number 136 was photographed…hand-carried by a friend from California. Thanks Jan!
We also made contact with several companies that expressed interest in partnering with us in creating the book, so stay tuned as more develops in that realm.
As always, Thanks for your support!
